Tea Blossoms


Springtime in the eastern Himalaya (of Nepal) means not only the renewal of the tea season but also a profusion of flowers, specially orchids.

  1. What beautiful flowers and pictures. And pic 4 looks like the grassy roof of pic 5. We have quite a nice variety of orchids here too but I don't think I've seen the variety in pic 2 before. Especially in this particular shade. Quite exquisite.

  2. I would imagine that your home near the border with Burma should be quite a hot spot for orchids and other exotic plants. Unless of course man (and usually it is men) has contrived to decimate them in the meantime.

    That does indeed look like the grassy roof. Hmmm, didn't notice that before. Thanks for pointing that out. Definitely "A House For Mr. Hobbit" with apologies to Mr Naipaul!
