  1. Oh, this is your nice blog!!
It was Ginza at early spring I guess.
I wanna be back to that time.....now Tokyo is too hot to drink hot tea. I can drink only cold one.

  2. Kazuko san, yes it was early spring 2010 in Ginza. It was really cold at that time with the rain but warmth was created by someone in a traditional red kimono. Really loved that traditional akai dress! Suddenly the weather was not so cold anymore!

  3. She's certainly dressed very traditionally, with those slippers in that rain. They must've got thoroughly wet. Not very practical.

  4. They usually carry extra pair or two!

  5. The rain reminds me of Vancouver!! The red "dress" is a nice contrast against the dull & dreary background.

  6. Lovely pictures and write up. I especially like the profile write up about the seven cups of tea. Is that a common saying or did you come up with it? Either way, it's beautiful!

  7. That is a poem written by a poet and tea master Lu Tong (790 - 835) who lived during the Tang Dynasty period. So it is more than 1000 year old. I did not come up with it: I would not be able to write such a beautiful poem.

  10. I noticed the poem too but forgot to mention how lovely it is. Actually thought you had written it yourself.

  11. Hey Z, I wish I were as good as you in writing poetry and prose.

No I really did not write that long poem about 7 bowls of tea. Like I said it is a famous Chinese poem. My feeble and pitiful attempt at poetry is that three line poem below the picture about Tokyo spring. Apologies!!

  12. didn't notice the poem about the 7 bowls of tea (poor eyesight - its in dark green against a black background!) but i like the haiku (?) about Tokyo spring. in the current Tokyo 'heatwave' it reminds me of cold early Tokyo springs and the promise of cooler climes just round the corner, hopefully. btw, i passed by ginza last weekend on one of my long walkabouts and, though i don't remember, i must've walked on the same street as the lady in red.

  13. I agree with "ruolnulworld" -- the green against black, and in that pretty font, is hard on the eyes {me poor eyes gettin' old too).

  14. Doma, I have changed the colour. The poem is now more readable. Thanks for your suggestion.

Ruolngulworld.....cooler climes should certainly be around the corner. I miss the nippy air of Nihon aki.
